2024 was the year I started doing little drawing videos. For anybody who’s never tried that before, well… they’re really hard to do. So, for my own enlightenment, and since I ixnayed my paywall, I thought I’d post a recap here since. (And yes, this IS sort of a test to see what happens to newly un-paywalled videos.)
After seeing a few of these for the first time in months, I think it’s safe to say I really had a lot to learn about the filming process! But, good news: It’s been 3/4 of a year, and I’ve STILL got lots to learn!
I’m envisioning a lot of fast-forwarding happening in your future…

A New Take on Live Caricatures
Note: I mentioned in the last post I’d be posting a process video of a big caricature job I’m on. That involved recording the whole thing, using 2 input video sources, etc, in software I’m learning. Turns out that first day of a 2 day shoot the sound wasn’t working. Probably for the better.
The Ins & Outs of Digital Color
Commissions can be fun. I went years turning them away, and I really don’t know why. Just knew I could, and advertising illustration allowed me that freedom….to be lazy. Now that turning jobs away is no longer an option, I’m really leaning into personalized jobs for individuals. Turns out, it’s actually pretty enjoyable work- who knew!
And that’s the limit for this post! Good. I’m tired.
Next up, the thrilling conclusion of the Best(?) of 2024!
